Join a small group at Mabel’s Emporium in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, and gain confidence in using a sewing machine.

This workshop runs over 2 Saturdays, where you will learn everything you need to know to make the lovely vintage wrap dress from Butterick Pattern B4790 (as seen on “The Great British Sewing Bee”).

We start by reviewing the pattern, understanding the information on the envelope and what it means, before moving on to the paper pattern pieces and instructions.

We’ll check over the measurements that you will take and ensure that your working from the correct pattern pieces.

We’ll lay out the pieces taking fabric design and grain into consideration, cutting out and sewing the dress together, checking for fit as we go.

We require a minimum of 3 people in order to run the class.

You will need to purchase your own fabric and pattern for this class.

Lunch is included in the price, so please let us know if you have any special dietary needs.
